Greenwood bagged his 13th goal of the campaign in United’s 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday night.
The talented 18-year-old continues to reward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer putting his trust in him with his prowess in front of goal and certainly doesn’t look out of place in the Premier League.
While Solskjaer has helped him make his breakthrough, it’s Ferguson who first spotted his talent.
According to the Daily Mail, at a League Managers' Association lunch three or four years ago - when Greenwood would have still been at school - Fergie announced: "I think we have found one."
Greenwood is only at the start of his career but it seems the Scot predicted he would go on to shine for United.
The teenager took his goal brilliantly against the Seagulls, cutting in from the right before bamboozling the defender with a step over or two, and then tucking the ball low and hard inside the goalkeeper’s near post.
Greenwood later went on to provide a cross for Bruno Fernandes to volley home and finish off a stunning counter-attacking move.

His display clearly didn’t go unnoticed with Solskjaer waxing lyrical about his young striker at full-time.
"He's getting better," said the Norwegian. "You can see clearly that he's maturing and improving, he's only 18 still so we will see more from him.
"I've said it throughout the year that, as long as we can get him faced up in and around the box, he'll create chances for us.
"But in this game his hold-up play and his link-up play and general movement was fantastic as well.
"He's a special talent, a special kid that we are going to look after, try to develop into a top, top player. He's doing well now, but he is still young and has things to learn.
"He knows that but we have a special talent there we have to nurture."
