Manchester United appear to have missed out on a move for Sergio Reguilon, who is Tottenham-bound.

The Red Devils were leading the race for the Real Madrid left-back this week but refused to meet the Spanish side's demands.

Los Blancos wanted a buyback clause included in the deal, as well as a £27.5m transfer fee.

United said no to both, while Spurs were unfazed by the demands and have pushed forward with a move.

Multiple sources report a move to north London is imminent for the Spaniard, who was on loan at Sevilla last season.

But luckily for United fans, Old Trafford bosses may have two other left-backs on their radar.

It has been reported that United will be offered an alternative to Sergio Reguilon in the form of Porto star Alex Telles.

Agent Pini Zahavi is keen to use the fact Reguilon's move to Old Trafford appears to be off, as he looks to send his client Telles to England instead.

Portuguese outlet A Bola report the super agent is expected to present an offer to United in the coming days.

The Red Devils are unwilling to spend more than £18m on Telles, given he turns 28 this year and is in the final year of his Porto deal.

The Portuguese club have dropped their asking price, meaning a transfer could work for all parties.

United are also reportedly watching Monaco left-back Fode Ballo-Toure, who is under contract until 2023.

The under-21 international would be brought in as a back-up for Shaw, while Brandon Williams would be shifted over the right-back as back-up for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Transfer Window Podcast reporter Duncan Castles this month reported Toure is one of the options being pursued, using the cash was meant to be for Jadon Sancho this summer.

“I’m hearing that United are looking to re-allocate cash into other areas of the team that Ole Gunnar Solskjear wants reinforced and hadn’t been a priority,” he said on the show.

“There was an interest in Fode Ballo-Toure, the left-back at Monaco, he’s young, he’s a French under-21 international, he’s played a lot of games for Monaco but he’s not a guaranteed starter for the entire season, so he’s the type of player who can be brought into the squad and would be satisfied working and challenging for a place, rather than the expectation of being a starter every match.

“There’s a shift there in looking at alternative opportunities if Dortmund are true to their word and won’t sell Sancho."
