West Ham United are reportedly interested in Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri and the Italian could be included in any deal which would see Declan Rice return to Stamford Bridge.

The Hammers are said to be desperate to keep Rice at the London stadium but a "massive offer" from the Blues could tempt them to sell, with the addition of Emerson a potential sweetener.

Transfer expert Alex Crook told talkSPORT : "West Ham can’t sell Declan Rice, can't they? You look at the reaction to the transfer of [Grady] Diangana; if they were to sell another of their perceived crown jewels the fans would be in absolute uproar.

"My understanding is the owners are desperate to keep hold of Declan Rice.

"Chelsea are still pushing in the background, but it would take a massive offer and I don’t see it happening.

"West Ham need players in; I understand David Moyes is potentially looking at Chelsea left-back Emerson, one of a number of players that could leave Stamford Bridge.

"I think if any club is in need of a spark now, something to get the fans excited, it’s West Ham United."

Rice recently made his 100th Premier League appearance for the Hammers and owners David Sullivan and David Gold paid tribute to the midfielder.

Speaking to the club's official website, they said: "On behalf of everyone at the Club, we would like to congratulate Declan on becoming the youngest player to make 100 Premier League appearances for West Ham United – a magnificent achievement.

"Since making his debut at Burnley back in May 2017 at the age of just 18, Declan has enjoyed a tremendous rise to prominence and now established himself as a vital member of our team and the England national side.
