BBC Wales Today raised eyebrows tonight (January 26) when a guest appeared on a video-link with a saucy-looking sex toy on a shelf in the background.

In the segment, women in Cardiff are being interviewed about the effect the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has had on employment, with many saying they have been struggling to get work.

One of the guests, Yvette Amos, has many objects on display in the background, including books, board games, and wall art – but stunned viewers spotted something else quite unexpected.

A bookcase appears to have a large pink flesh-coloured dildo sitting on the top shelf, in-between files and other innocent objects.

The x-rated object quickly caused a stir, with viewers debating if it was there on purpose or had simply been overlooked.

One viewer described the toy as a "girthy one", and others speculated the awkward mishap had been a "mare" and felt sorry for her.

Another joked: "Good interview this evening.....may wanna tidy your shelves though love."

Someone else commented: "My latest addiction is staring at people’s houses on zoom when my kids do online clubs.

"Have you seen the dildo on a bookshelf during BBC Wales?"

A fourth person commented: "Let’s be honest if you know BBC Wales is going to interview you live then you really would take the dildo off the shelf."

"Only on the BBC Wales news will a woman be live with a dildo on her shelf," said another amused viewer.

Since the first lockdown began, there have been many embarrassing blunders caught on film as people have to resort to using video-conferencing for meetings and interviews while at home.

This comes after a man appeared naked during a video conference with leading politicians.

And an Instagram star was red-faced after leaving a sex toy on a shelf "to dry" while recording a video without noticing it was in plain sight.

Meanwhile, a lass said she "died of embarrassment" after leaving a dildo on display while a handyman was looking around her home.
