Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard has pleaded for advice from fans after her beloved pooch was taken into intensive care.
The actress took to social media to reveal Norman had fallen ill and was displaying signs of sepsis.
The actress said that the "next few hours are critical" while her dog was being treated by vets.
Taking to her Instagram, she shared an adorable snap of Norman sat at the dining table.
Alongside her post, she penned: "Our beloved Norman is in intensive care, he was admitted yesterday with sickness and diarrhoea he had a temp of 106.
"Blood pressure keeps crashing they don't know if it's viral, bacterial but he is showing signs of sepsis. Next few hours are critical. Has anyone been through this?"
The actress was instantly flooded with supportive messages from hundreds of her 25,000 fans on the photo-sharing site.
"My dog honey had this when she was 3 and went onto live til she was 14," said one.
While a second added: "Mine had something similar years ago and it was pancreatitis - she was so unwell - fine in the end (now a ripe old age of 11!) but diet had to completely change after that, she can only eat really plain food."
"So sorry, get well soon," said a third.
"Poor Norman! I hope he will make a full recovery Beverley," commented a fourth.
A fifth gushed: "Praying for Norman to have a speedy and full recovery. Our pets aren't just pets, they are part of the family. Bless Norman, you and your family. xx."
Beverley announced in 2019 that she would be walking away from the cobbles after 30 years and was looking forward to new projects.
The actress was notably absent from screens for six months after being left in agony following a routine operation.
She exclusively told Daily Star : "I have been in the most excruciating pain you can imagine – like teeth grinding in my hip.
"But worse than that was the mental torture of thinking, 'Is this the end for me?
"I had what I thought was a routine operation, but I would never have had it if I had known the terrible consequences."
