The World War II veteran, who has just been promoted to Honorary Colonel by the queen, thanked the country for their support after raising £30million for the NHS in its battle against coronavirus.
Speaking to GMB hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid today, he said: "Thank you all very much.
"This country is full of marvellous people and everyone is keeping their spirits up."
He added: "It may take time, but we will do it in the end."
His appearance and speech had fans emotional, judging by the online reaction.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "An absolute gentleman .. I cry every time I see him #GMB."
While another added: "I said I wasn’t going to cry today and Colonel Tom has just set me off #GMB what a true hero! Pride of Britain indeed."
A third chimed in: "Look at his face bless."
The veteran's daughter Lucy and grandson Max were also on the show.
Lucy gushed: "It's amazing what he's achieved. So inspiring and special to watch."
While Max added: "We're so proud, he's the gold standard."
To celebrate his milestone birthday, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast was also held for him today.
Captain Tom made it his mission to walk 100 laps of his garden and set his target at £1,000.
However, he has exceed that greatly - reaching £30million today.
Tom said he is looking forward to having "one or two days" of nothing after his birthday.
