The Chase returned to our screens this afternoon with a new episode of the popular ITV quiz show.
Host Bradley Walsh welcomed a team of four contestants to the show this afternoon.
The cheeky presenter was eager to see them get through to the final with some money in-hand.
Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace was in the hot seat on Thursday trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.
Simon, Duncan, Michelle and Annabel all took it in turns to take on the cash builder and later went head-to-head with The Dark Destroyer in an intense round of general knowledge questions.
Simon and Duncan both sailed through to the final chase after a shaky start from The Dark Destroyer.
The quiz champion answered several questions incorrectly this afternoon and it didn't go unnoticed by the eagle-eyed viewers at home.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Shaun needs to quit, embarrassing himself now."
Another added: "Shaun looks like he really can’t be bothered today."
A third said: "Always thought Shaun was the weakest chaser."
While a fourth posted: "Taxi for Shaun."
"Shaun, c'mon! You should know that," a fifth ranted.
Even The Dark Destroyer himself admitted that he was not on form.
After Simon and Duncan got through to the final chase, Bradley pointed out: "So it's two-nil now.
Shaun added: "It should be two-nil to me now, two players have slipped through my fingers."
Supply teacher Michelle was the third contestant up to take on the tough quiz and also made it through to the final chase.
Annabel also made it back safe and dry making it a full-house in the final.
Despite all four contestants putting on a great effort, it wasn't enough to beat The Dark Destroyer who caught the team with seconds remaining.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
