The Chase viewers were not happy as they watched players Rachel, Janice and Hugh take on the Chaser Paul Sinha.
As the trio battled to win £12,000 in the final round, fans were left annoyed as Hugh made a number of mistakes.
His first error was that he accidentally said that the American emergency number was 411 instead of 911, leaving fans fuming as they couldn't believe the mistake.
Poor Hugh also answered a question when it was Rachel's buzzer that went off, forfeiting the question during the final round.
He also kicked himself after answering Joanna Lumley for an Ab-Fab question when it was Jennifer Saunders.
Fans also noticed that Rachel and Hugh were debating over an answer after The Sinnerman slipped up over which party William Gladstone originally started in.
Rachel said it was the Tories, but Hugh insisted that it was the Whigs and overruled her, giving Bradley the answer.
However, it was Rachel who was correct, and the team gave up another point, leading to a very close stand-off.
The trio ended up losing the round by just one second in a seriously nail-biting round.
Frustrated fans rushed to social media to comment on the close loss, as some commented that Hugh's mistakes could have made a difference to the outcome.
One posted: "That was a but cr*p tbh... Hugh easily lost them 3 there."
Another added: "They lost that on 911 and Jennifer Saunders."
A third chipped in: "America's emergency number..... 411."
A fourth wrote: "HUGH FFS!"
But a fifth was more sympathetic, writing: "ONE SECOND! Brutal to lose with such a short amount of time remaining!"
The Chase continues on Monday at 5pm on ITV.
