Avengers star Chris Evans called his nude picture “embarrassing” in his first interview since accidentally posting it to Instagram over the weekend.
The Marvel actor shared a short video on Saturday (September 12) to his Instagram Stories, but at the end, a shot of the actor’s phone camera roll came up.
It featured an image of a penis, although it was cropped too closely for any identifying features. Chris swiftly deleted the post but soon found himself the subject of thousands of tweets.
The 39-year-old has since appeared on the Tamron Hall Show, where the topic of discussion soon turned to the awkward post.
A visibly uncomfortable Chris joked: “Did something happen this weekend?”
He was then asked about his first tweet since the leak, in which he used his newfound viral stardom to urge people to go to vote in the US elections in November.
“That’s called turning a frown upside down,” Chris said.
“It was an interesting weekend full of lessons learnt. You know, things happen. It’s embarrassing but you got to roll with the punches.
“I will say, I have some pretty fantastic fans who really came to my support. That was really, really nice.”
The Captain America star’s fans have urged people not to share the accidental post and instead have shared hilarious memes that crop out the revealing pic.
Many of his famous friends and family flocked to Twitter to offer their support.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk in the hugely successful Marvel franchise, joked: “Bro, while Trump is in office there is NOTHING you could possibly do to embarrass yourself. See…silver lining.”
Chris’ brother Scott also tweeted: “Was off social media for the day. So. What’d I miss?”
