During Monday night's episode of Coronation Street, viewers got the feeling that mysterious character Scott Emberton (Tom Roberts) and Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) could be set for an affair.

Fans watched as a sketchy-looking Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) spoke to Scott about their past, revealing more about a dark secret.

It was clear that, despite the two making amends, Johnny was uncomfortable with Scott being around and wanted him gone.

But Jenny had other ideas, inviting Scott to stay for something to eat, while Johnny tried to keep his secrets concealed.

Given that Scott took the fall for whatever happened with him, Johnny and a security guard, fans think he could be out for revenge – and that Jenny will be his target.

One tweeted: "Not the biggest fan of Johnny but Jenny best not cheat on him. I like her, so she'd best not make me hate her."

Another wrote: "Scott storyline. Take everything Johnny has, including his wife, which she won't cheat on Johnny, which blows up and he turns out to be Carla's father. Predictable."

A third said: "Johnny's friend... he's up to something... far too forgiving after Johnny let his best mate go down without helping him. Prediction: He tries to lure Jenny! You heard it here first. You're welcome."

The exact details of Johnny and Scott's crime wasn't completely revealed, however more information was uncovered.

Johnny told his old friend: "I was always grateful, you know, that you kept my name out of it. You didn't have to."

He went on: "Do you ever think about, you know, what happened to that security guard?"

Scott said: "Listen, we were young. You've got to put all that behind you. I have."

It led to Corrie viewers wondering what exactly they did to the security guard that would see one of them sent to prison.

Could they have murdered the security guard in their crime from their youth?

With Scott showing no signs of leaving, it seems fans could see the full details exposed soon.

Coronation Street currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV
