Coronation Street fans were concerned for Asha tonight as they noticed Corey behaving like the evil Geoff Metcalfe.
It was Asha's 16th birthday, and her good pal Nina had bought her a stylish choker necklace.
However, when they were in the cafe, Corey told Asha she looked like a "dog".
When Corey asked her about her birthday presents, she said: "Dad got me a sign and Mary got me a Ben Shepherd calendar."
Asha then gestured to her necklace as she said: "To be fair I did like this".
After Corey said he was wondering what it was, the character replied: "I think it's pretty cool."
His response left Asha hurt as he remarked: "Yeah if you've got four legs and you like sniffing your mate's crotch."
Corey continued to his girlfriend: "You don't want to be mistaken for a dog do you?"
The character then proceeded to say "here doggy doggy" and throw pieces of cake towards Asha, much like Geoff had done while mentally abusing Yasmeen.
Last year, abusive Geoff had thrown his poor wife's food on the floor and proceeded to throw chips at her and called her a dog.
Viewers took to Twitter, concerned for Asha after watching Corey's behaviour.
One said: "So Corey is Geoff 2.0?"
While another wrote: "Asha, don't listen to him, he's practically calling you a dog! Corey is just like Geoff."
"Corey is literally Geoff Jr", penned a third.
Yasmeen overheard Corey and Asha's conversation as she was sat nearby in the cafe.
She approached Asha and warned her, saying: "He just doesn't seem like he's being very kind."
Asha was defensive at first as she said it was just "banter", but she eventually thanked Yasmeen for her warning.
Coronation Street airs Mondays and Wednesdays 7.30pm and 8.30pm with an hour-long episode at 7.30 on Fridays on ITV
