EastEnders' Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) is finally making plans to leave Gray (Toby Alexander Smith) after years of being secretly abused.
Next week, she decides enough is enough and meets with one of Gray’s rival law firms to seek out the best divorce lawyer she can find but she soon learns that it’s going to be expensive.
Back at home, an oblivious Gray continues with his control over his wife and installs a tracking app to Chantelle’s phone, before taking her credit card.
Chantelle later meets with her friend Kheerat Panesar to ask if he can lend her money, unaware of his own financial troubles.
A worried Kheerat gives Chantelle as much money as he can – he pushes her on what she needs it for and why Gray can’t help with it.
Chantelle admits it’s for a divorce but doesn't reveal why she's had enough of her husband and has decided to leave him.
Kheerat is taken aback and as he promises to help her, they share a moment - could the pair have feelings for each other?
Kheerat’s money troubles have just gone from bad to worse, but it looks like it will be worth it to get Chantelle away from an increasingly suspicious Gray.
As Gray leaves for work, Chantelle sets her plan in motion to get away with the kids.
Will she manage to get away in time?
Jessica has teased Chantelle's escape, saying on Secrets From The Square to host Stacey Dooley: "I think Chantelle is going to find her inner-Taylor.
"I think Chantelle has had her lightbulb moment. I think the penny's dropped."
Gray actor Toby-Alexander Smith also discussed the looming scenes.
He said on the show: "Gray's been furloughed, which is a dent to his ego.
"Of course, naturally, that brings a trigger for Gray to get frustrated with Chantelle. Therefore, I imagine he's pretty much at boiling point."
EastEnders returns to BBC One at 8pm on Monday 7 September.
