Sacha Baron Cohen's character of Borat as shared "emergency voting information" with his social media followers ahead of tonight's tense US Presidential election.

The star who is dubbed "the number four journalist in Kazakhstan," pleaded with his female followers to not go out and vote.

This year's election will decide whether President Trump will take up seat in the White House for a second term, or whether Joe Biden will become the President.

Borat urged women not to vote in the Presidential election

"This is because like moths into a fire, you ladies are attracted by dangerous ideas like honesty, fairness and consent."

Closing his announcement, he continued: "Women of US and A. This is the most important election of our lifetime, so leave it to the men."

Borat 2 has already sparked fury in the States following a scene involving Donald Trump's lawyer.

The "number four journalist" said if women don't vote, Trump will lose his seat

One scene appeared to show Rudy Giuliani with his hands down his trousers - which he has said is a "complete fabrication".

The scene with Mr Giuliani sees him being interviewed in a hotel room about the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

A young actress then invites Giuliani, 76, to join her for a drink. After his microphone is taken off, he lies down on the bed and appears to be putting his hands inside his trousers.

Referring to that clip, Mr Giuliani hit out on social media, saying: "The Borat video is a complete fabrication. I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment.

"At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate.

"If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise he is a stone-cold liar."

President Trump has also slammed Cohen's character, telling US reporters: "You know, years ago, he tried to scam me and I was the only one that said: 'No way. This guy is a phoney guy.' I don't find him funny. To me, he's a creep."
