Emmerdale tonight saw rapist Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) sneaking into his ex Rhona Goskirk's (Zoe Henry) house yet again – and getting away with it.
The twisted character has been skulking around the village for weeks since he was released from prison and was revealed to be the killer of Rhona's boyfriend Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
But tonight his stalking was taken to the next level when he walked in to find Rhona asleep on the couch, with him even tucking her in and stroking her face.
Again, Rhona had no idea he was there and fans have been left confused how he has not yet been rumbled.
One said: "If Pierce was breathing over my shoulder I'd bloody know about it. Whether I had a drop of wine or not."
A second wrote: "Surely Pierce saying that so close to Rhona and stroking her hair would've woken her up? And how does he keep on getting in?"
Someone else added: "How the hell did Rhona not wake up when Pierce was next to her and talking. The creepiness of these scenes. This build-up is brilliant."
A fourth wrote: "Even though Rhona was asleep she could have still heard Pierce, she could have felt his hand on her?"
Another commented: "Jesus Rhona that must have been some wine to knock you out like that! Surely she would have sensed someone there and wasn't she running away as she knew Pierce was coming out of prison? She's never mentioned it since."
And a sixth added: "You'd wake up wouldn't you, getting mauled like that by Pierce."
Pierce will get rumbled next week, when Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) bumps into him in the village.
But her shock turns to terror when he picks up little Johnny and runs off with him.
Will Vanessa be the one to break the news to Rhona, or will Pierce keep getting away with his stalking?
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV
