I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is back on our screens – this time with many changes.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show couldn’t be filmed in Australia, and instead the celebrities have set up camp in a castle in North Wales.
ITV bosses regularly for out huge sums to get big stars on the show – sometimes even Hollywood stars.
Some stars demand six-figure sums for appearing on the ITV reality show, with other, more unknown stars, happy to take on the challenge for as little as £25,000.
Here we take a look at I’m A Celebrity’s highest-paid stars of all time.
1. Noel Edmonds
In 2018, Deal or No Deal presenter Noel Edmonds became the highest-paid I’m A Celebrity contestant of all time.
Even though he was a surprise late arrival to camp, he was still paid a mind-boggling £600,000 for appearing on the show, as revealed by the Mirror.
In a shocking blow for ITV, the Radio 1 presenter was not only the highest-ever paid contestant on the show – but he was also the first celebrity to be voted out.
2. Caitlyn Jenner
Hollywood’s very own Caitlyn Jenner was reportedly paid an eye-watering £500,000 to appear on I’m A Celebrity in 2019.
It was the TV personality’s second I’m a Celeb appearance, having taken part in the US version back in 2003.
A source told The Sun at the time: “She’s such a huge name and a great get for producers. ITV think she is one of their best-ever signings. It’s a real bolt from the blue.”
3. Harry Redknapp
Harry Redknapp was 2018’s second-highest I’m A Celeb earner, reportedly being paid £500,000 for his efforts.
The football manager went on to win the series, and was even named the most popular contestant of all time.
Speaking of his victory, Redknapp said; “I’m amazed I survived three weeks to be honest with you.”
4. Amir Khan
In 2017, boxing champion Amir Khan took the crown of highest-paid celebrity contestant, before Noel’s season.
For appearing on the ITV reality show, the Olympic boxer pocketed a cool £400,000, according to the Sun.
Despite claiming never to have seen the show before, Khan made it through six rounds of public eliminations before being voted out on day 20.
5. Ian Wright
Former Arsenal legend Ian Wright also reportedly bagged £400,000 for his stint in the jungle in 2019.
The pundit turned out to be a good investment, and regularly butted heads with comedian Andrew Maxwell.
The football star said the show would help him pay off his tax debts.
6. Katie Price
TV personality Katie Price is the only person to have been a UK I’m A Celebrity campmate twice – once in 2004 and again in 2009.
On her last stint she met her first husband Peter Andre, and pocketed a massive fee.
It is thought she was paid slightly less than £400,00, which was a massive jump from the £65,000 the other campmates were on.
7. Mo Farah
According to the Sun, Sir Mo Farah is receiving the biggest payout for appearing on the show in 2020.
He is believed to be pocketing an incredible £300,000 because producers thought the athlete would be a hit with the viewers.
A TV insider told the publication: “The ITV executives were desperate to bag Mo and will have spent big to get their man.”
