Jennifer Aniston surprised fans with a Friends reunion at the virtual Emmy Awards as she appeared from her home alongside Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.

The 51-year-old Hollywood actress attended the ceremony to present an award before going home in time to watch her nomination for The Morning Show.

Jennifer then hosted a surprise Friends reunion as when she was announced, she was seen on screen alongside her best pals and co-stars Courteney and Kudrow.

The acting bombshell joked with host Jimmy Kimmel: "We've been roommates since 1994, Jimmy."

Cox, 56, added: "Of course I’m here, we live together."

Kudrow, 57, then joined in as she walked into shot and said: "Where else would I live?"

Kimmel replied "I don't know, with your family, maybe?" and Kudrow said: "Yeah, like people live with their families. That's funny."

Jennifer, Courtney and Lisa were then joined by actor Jason Batemen, who had previously filmed a skit of him being kicked out of the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, where the virtual show was filmed.

Jason told Jimmy: "Oh, look who it is, the host with the most, rudeness!

"You call to kick me out of my own house, too, freak?"

Jennifer explained that Jason is living with them too, but "just until he goes off to college."

She then showered the presenter with praise for doing such a good job on the show, exclaiming: "By the way, you guys are killing it, this is so great.

"We'll be watching! Dinner's ready, we're DVRing it."

Fans will be disappointed to hear that they'll have to wait even longer for the hotly anticipated Friends reunion.

The reunion show, which was set to air 25 years after the last episode aired, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It would have seen Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer reunite once more.

A source told Variety that filming has been moved to May 2021 "at the earliest".

While Deadline reported hours later: "HBO Max distanced itself from Fulwell 73 quotes about the Friends reunion being imminent."
