Strictly 's Nicola Adams and her dance partner Katya Jones will be returning to the show this series after being kicked when Katya tested positive for coronavirus, it is claimed.
Their departure from the show meant they had to permanently drop out of the competition due to show rules.
The rules state that it would not be fair if they self-isolated for two weeks and then returned with a spot on the show.
But it is claimed that producers have made a U-turn on their decision, and have decided to let the pair perform on the final of the show.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Strictly bosses knew as soon as Nicola had to leave that they wanted to do something special for her.
"The rules mean she can’t come back to the show next year but they’re planning to bring her back with Katya for the final."
The pair have been forced to self-isolate separately but boxing champ Nicola tested negative for Covid-19, it is claimed.
Katya, is said to be "inconsolable" about the pair leaving the show.
She told on social media of the pair's disappointment at leaving the show.
"We're going to miss being in the studio today!" Katya wrote.
"@nicolaadams and I would have been performing American Smooth to 'Stand by me'.
"Good luck to all the couples and Anton tonight!! I'll be watching. @bbcstrictly #strictlycomedancing."
It is claimed Katya was desperate to change her public perception.
It's alleged the dancer believes her image was damaged after photos emerged of her kissing her 2018 partner Seann Walsh, while she was married to Neil Jones.
A source told The Sun: "Katya was inconsolable about having to leave the competition, she was so excited about being in the first same-sex couple and she really thought it was her chance to restore her battered 'kissgate' image.
"She wants to be remembered for all the right reasons not the wrong ones."
Nicola and Katya had been floating along in the middle of the leaderboard until their untimely exit, with their final dance scoring them a 19.
But on November 12, it was announced that they would be leaving the competition as Katya had tested positive for Covid-19.
Daily Star Online has contacted the show for comment.
