The This Morning host writes in his new book Phillip Schofield: Life's What You Make It how he would always hear the best rumours while enjoying a cheeky 5 minute cigarette break.
He jokes that since moving on to vapes, the Dancing On Ice smoking club has never been the same.
But while the gossip spilled over a fag was always juicy, Phil says it's the Sunday morning read throughs with production that are the most eye-opening.
Phillip, 58, writes: "The gossip at the Sunday morning script read through is always sensational.
"'She did what?'
"'You'll never believe who shagged who last night!'"
Phillip has co-hosted Dancing On Ice since it launched in 2006.
For the first six seasons he was joined by Holly Willoughby to present the show before Christine Bleakley replaced Holly in 2012.
In 2018 Holly returned to co-hot the revamped tenth series of of the ice skating contest.
Also in the book Phil credits his This Morning co-host Holly for being his steady guiding light when he was panicking about coming out to the nation.
On February 7 Phil appeared on This Morning alongside Holly to speak frankly about his sexuality.
In an emotional live TV moment, the duo held hands while Holly read out a statement from her terrified co-star.
Phil said: "You never know what's going on in someone's seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing - and so you won't know what has been consuming me for the last few years.
"With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.
"This is something that has caused many heart-breaking conversations at home.
"I have been married to Steph for nearly 27 years, and we have two beautiful grown-up daughters, Molly and Ruby."
