Piers Morgan embarked on a ferocious rant at the start of Tuesday's Good Morning Britain as he called out Boris Johnson for his u-turn on school closures.
During his public address on Monday evening, Boris Johnson announced that most primary and secondary schools will return to remote learning until February.
Piers was raging as he branded it 'utterly insane' that some pupils were sent back to school for one day before the lockdown was announced.
He said: "He sends them all back to school so they can mingle with other students" for them to "then go home and infect their elderly relatives?"
"What a brilliant idea by the prime minister", he added sarcastically.
Piers questioned why the schools went from "being safe on Sunday", to the schools all needing to be closed.
He raged: "Sorry Prime Minister, how did they go from being completely safe on Sunday and yesterday morning, to being so dangerous they all have to be closed? Now we know the answer. The answer is you eventually got to the right decision..."
Piers also called out State for Education Gavin Williamson as he continued his rant about school closures.
He remarked: "This guy is the most clueless Education Secretary we've ever seen."
Piers continued "Where is he? This is utter chronic appalling dereliction management of duty from the government."
He went on: "Why do you do this, why do you disrupt everyone's lives teachers parents kids? And then pull the plug, it is so insane."
Morgan also tweeted about the closure of all schools and non-essential shops for at least six weeks as he shared a fiery tweet.
He wrote: "So, just hours after Boris Johnson assured us schools are 'safe' and will stay open, he shuts them all. But only after allowing them to be open for one day so everyone could infect each other & take the virus home to their older relatives.
"This is scandalously bad government."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
