Piers Morgan was left foaming at the mouth after his Good Morning Britain co-host Kate Garraway revealed that her car had been stolen.
The daytime presenter could barely contain his anger as he piled in to defend his on-screen chum, who has already suffered in recent times due to her husband Derek Draper's brutal coronavirus battle.
After discovering that Kate's family had been delivered another low blow, with the 20-year-old vehicle nicknamed "Vicky Volvo" being pinched, the 55-year-old could not hold back his anger as he branded the thieves "disgusting scumbags".
Opening up about the incident, Kate explained: "Initially I thought it's bound to be an unpaid parking ticket.
"I thought Derek hadn't been able to sort it out while out of action since March and it's probably gone through a system and it's been impounded. But it's actually been stolen."
Trying to comprehend what had happened, angry Piers responded: "Let me get this straight.
"Some little scumbag or scumbags have come to your house and stolen your car when you're going through what you're going through?
"It is absolutely disgusting. If you know someone who has this car...
"It makes me puke that someone has done this."
A speechless Kate could barely find the words to describe how her car of two decades had been taken from her.
She added: "It's silver, it's battered, it's old, it's got a roof box...
"I don't know but it was such a body blow – particularly to my son Billy.
"That was our family car and it's just, like, another thing that's been grabbed away.
"There are bigger things than a car going on right now, but it's one of those things."
A defiant Piers said: "We'll get your car situation fixed today."
Turning to those who had committed the crime, he said: "Honestly if you took that car, look at your humanity for a moment."
Starring intently down the lens of the camera, he snarled: "Please, give the damn car back.
"It's got sentimental value. It is the family car and it's the only one the two kids have known, it's part of the family life.
"This family needs that car."
Time will tell if Kate and her kids have any luck sorting things out.
