Simon Cowell has been forced to step down from his upcoming judging role on America's Got Talent after a horror fall left him needing emergency surgery.
The X Factor legend will now be replaced by Pop Idol superstar Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly will sit alongside regular judges Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.
Confirming the news via social media, Kelly uploaded a light hearted memo to her Instagram page.
The memo read: "My friend Simon Cowell is doing better now but was in an accident and won't be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday's live shows of AGT, but no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler and hotter is taking his seat.
"The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson."
She signed off the post: "You're welcome in advance."
A source close Cowell previously revealed he was "one centimetre from being paralysed" after falling off his brand new e-bike.
"He’s on his feet and walking around again as much as he can.
“He’s taking it easy but doing well," an insider told People magazine.
They added: "Simon is already back at work and he’s been working on email on his iPad and speaking to a few on his team.”
"He’s definitely not letting this slow down all the things he’s got going on."
It's not known how long Simon will be out of action for but he was due to pre record the Britain's Got Talent finals in just a few weeks time.
Due to Covid the show will not be live as planned despite bosses initially hoping restrictions would have eased off by then to allow it.
