During Tuesday's episode of Tipping Point, viewers were left seriously confused right from the start after the contestants' introductions.
John introduced himself as a "celebrant", however some viewers misheard him and believed he had told host Ben Shephard that he was a "celibate".
They flocked to Twitter to see if anyone else was as confused – and it's safe to say they were.
One said: "Well, Tipping Point has befuddled me already, what with one girl describing her occupation as amateur golfer and I've had to Google what a celebrant does."
A second wrote: "Did John just introduce himself as, 'I'm a celibate from Leicester?'"
Another tweeted: "What did John say he was? Celibate?"
A fourth commented: "He's John and he's celibate? TMI John."
While someone else, anticipating the confusion, wrote: "John is a celebrant – and a celebrant is in charge of a wedding ceremony. You're welcome."
It turns out that a celebrant is someone who performs and officiates formal ceremonies, not just weddings, though that is where they are commonly seen.
Other events that celebrants can officiate include things like vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies and also funeral rites.
They are often not religious, so, in weddings, are often used by couples wanting a more personal or meaningful ceremony.
Sadly for John, his time on Tipping Point was nothing to celebrate, as he was knocked out after the first round with no money.
Ameet was eliminated next, leaving just Bex and Christine remaining to go head-to-head to try and collect more cash out of the arcade-style machine.
Bex managed to get more than £2000 in her bank though, meaning Christine was sent home too.
In the final round, Bex was fighting to win that jackpot counter and after three drops managed to get it onto the second shelf.
And, with just one counter left, the managed to nudge the £10,000 counter over the tipping point.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV
